Research

My field of research is applied statistics. Use of statistics is ubiquitous in the present day. From sports to science to medicine to social studies, all need some form of statistics. This is what makes this subject so important to many researchers. My interest is in the application of statistical theories in various fields.

One such application is in researching the effect of non-custodial sentences on recidivism. The aim is to see how Intensive Correction Order compares to other kinds of non-custodial sentences like Suspended Sentences or Supervision in reducing the reoffending behaviour.

In another ongoing research project, I have collaborated with cardiologists to study the effect of risk factor management, in particular, weight loss, on atrial fibrillation outcomes. This is very promising research to understand which risk factor management tools offer a better prognosis.
